This 4th of July, the Lewistown Chamber, as part of the Lewistown 250 Committee, is working to bring a community-wide celebration to Central Montana. Planned for July 3–5, 2026, Lewistown 250 will bring the Lewistown-area community together for a once-in-a-generation celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

The three-day event will showcase Lewistown’s history, traditions, and hometown spirit with activities including a Main Street street dance, pancake breakfast, cake & pie auction, parade, Rattlesnake Jake Shootout reenactment, veterans recognition, and a theatrical reenactment of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The celebration will also feature a living history fair, cultural storytelling, traditional Native American dances, food trucks, live music, old-fashioned games, outdoor movies, and fireworks.

Sunday will offer a quieter chance to enjoy Lewistown’s trails, mountain paths, and fishing spots while reflecting on the freedoms and community traditions that have helped shape the nation for 250 years.
